well since we hadn't heard from the attorney, jack called him today, but by 5pm we still han't heard confirmation that the pretrial was still 4-9, so I went to his office after work. He seemed cordially surprised and apolojetic saying he was gg to call tomorrow. He then said the pretrial has been change 6-2 or 6-9 due to himself being out of town that one day next week. He didn't say and i didn't ask how long he knew this, but, I am seriously frustrated with his lack of communication, is it me or the system?
I feel this shouldn't have made it past day 1.

I hate to say it but welcome to the world of lawyers and the justice system.
I have had some experience with our justice system in cival matters. Try not to get frustrated, it can be a trying time for sure.

I have found that lawyers don't call and don't respond to messages in a timely manner. Thet seem to operate more in the dictation \ fax mode. I had two good attorneys, but I could never get them to call me either. Unfortunately most of us don't have fax machines, which seems to be their main communication tool because they want a written copy of all work done on a case.
We live in the age of instant information, so we get use to getting the facts fast.
They almost give the impression they don't want to be bothered. It's a perception thing.

This is probably the most frequent and frustrating complaints that people have with their lawyers. I don't know why my colleagues are so awful about this.
