I almost always OC but I have an LTCF for two reasons:

    1. I need it to OC in my car.
    2. When it's cold outside and I put a coat on, I'm CC'ing and need it.

I really enjoy OCing, but I do have a LTCF for a couple of reasons. First off you need it to carry in a motor vehicle whether you are OC or CC. No matter how hard I try there are just some instances that are just not OC appropriate for me, so a LTCF is required by law for me to CC in public.

This is not what he is asking, he wants to know how many OC without having a LTCF and what THEIR reasons are for doing so....

I cannot answer the question but I thought I saw only one person who was around 18 (maybe 2??) that were either OCing or considering OCing. Cannot remember who they were, though.

I think it is rather rare.

When i carry it is OC for i have no LTCF. I dont carry everywhere, but I tend to more and more.

Now we figure out this OC on a bike thing and that will change.

Before anyone who doesnt already know why i dont have my LTCF asks.... lets just leave it at -

Just as you exercise your right to acquire a license, i choose to exercise my right to not need one.

They want to play games... so can I.

    unsavory character... ha!

digressing I know, but didn't want to open another thread for a quick Q. Deals with OC in cars. Talked to an NRA rep down here in MD couple weeks back, trying to clarify PAs OC issues. He said that you could carry in a car as long as firearm was visible (even if its in a case). Read here, and in past, that unless u have LTCF you can't transport beyond scope of federal transporting laws. What's the final say in this? Is it at all possible to OC in areas beyond walking distance of your house?

    thx,
    DaveinMD

You may want to ask this NRA rep exactly how big a crack habit he has. While there may, at times, be an on going philosophical discussion about whether the term "carry" equals "transport", the fact of the matter is that in Pa., you can have a firearm in your vehicle only under a few very specific exceptions without a LTCF. Even if you fall into one of those exceptions, you could still be arrested without a LTCF and you would have to prove you were covered under an exception to 6106.

    PS- Welcome to Pa.!!

PPS- Now please keep this thread on track for the OP's original question....
