No later than the next mass shooting, the federal government will advocate and pursue more information on the "mental state" of gun buyers, and this will proceed incrementally until any opponent of federal policies can be deemed "mentally unfit" to own a firearm.

Meanwhile, the bad guys outside the law will still get guns if and when they want them, and the top levels of government, who are arguably the real "whackos" in America, will remain immune to all opprssive laws they direct at Americans.
