    Default For the group

    If you felt we were wrong for OCing while we were not trying to make a statement if we don't stick together as a group I want to remind you of something written in 1945 and the meaning it has today

    Read and Remember this? Translation below

    Als die Nazis die Kommunisten holten,
    Habe ich geschwiegen;
    Ich war ja kein Kommunist.
    Als sie die Sozialdemokraten einsperrten,
    Habe ich geschwiegen;
    Ich war ja kein Sozialdemokrat. Als sie die Gewerkschafter holten,
    Habe ich nicht protestiert;
    Ich war ja kein Gewerkschafter. Als sie die Juden holten,
    Habe ich geschwiegen;
    Ich war ja kein Jude. Als sie mich holten,
    Gab es keinen mehr, der protestieren konnte.

    In Germany, the Nazis first came for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist.
    Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.
    Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist.
    Then they came for the Catholics, but I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant.
    Then they came for me...By that time there was no one to speak up for anyone.

    --Reverend Martin Niemoller 1945

    Anyone who is on any other forum where the concealed carry groups think we were wrong should post this on their site. It means as much or more today as we are suppose to be so politically correct in everything we do and alway walk on egg shells so as not to offend the government are any person we meet.

    We walk the streets with our heads down so as not offend, we don't speak up when we see a wrong being committed we have become a nation that doesn't speak up. AND THAT SCARES THE HELL OUT OF ME So if you don't speak up their will be no one to speak up for you

    great post Larry!! I do not OC, well not intentionally. once in a while I might remove my outter garment and end up OCing but not usually. I think you are absolutely correct, if OC were to become illegal CC would soon follow in the same footsteps. Whether anyone thinks OC is a good idea or not should not matter. It's about our rights. Rights aren't going to be taken in one fell swoop..... it will be done in baby steps.

    Scares the hell out of me too Larry.
    I'll say whatever is on my mind...I'm not always right but at least it's out there in the open to discuss. Because of this alot of people think I'm an asshole. I could really care less.

    Thumbs up Re: For the group

    Thanks for the post , it is the absolute truth, .

    they will get us in baby steps, the already have eroded our first amendment rights, it is called being politically correct.

    that staement is poignant, my german teacher in high school was a corporal in the German army and we learned a lot about what happened in the war years , from a participant in WW II , he was a Oblate seminarian and was drafted before he could take his final vows, he wound up in the invasion of Holland and was a helluva great person, and a wonderful Catholic preist.

    It brought a lot memoties.

    I am glad you provided a translation since my german is incredibly rusty.

    Good post Larry. Someone once said, and I paraphrase it because I don't quite rember the whole passage. "All it takes for tirany to take over is for good men to stand by and do nothing."

    Please feel free to refesh my memory on the passage.

    Public opinion's against us. Ethically, legally, morally nothing wrong was done. However, look at the people who make the laws. That's where you have to start. Get in control, get some power, and affirm the rights.

    I never speak my mind, I am way to sensitive to others' feelings to ever think about offending someone with an unpopular view. That would be...well...politically incorrect. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves for making those nice officers have to rush over to you and show you who's boss. And which of you is going to reimberse the patrons who called 911 for their cell minutes? Hmmm, who?

    I just threw up in my mouth a little from typing that

    than to those attending too small a degree of it."~Thomas Jefferson, 1791
