    Default Holster suggestions for S&W.40VE

I am in the market for a new holster. I am getting tired of having to separate the top of my Uncle Mikes sidekick to re-holster. I wanted a Serpa CQC but customer service told me they don't have one that fits my weapon. Ideas??

Yeah, I guess that's how I'm going to go. I kind of like the roto holster. How is the retention on these? I have heard the Serpas are great, but I don't know anything about the Fobus, and their website is not a wealth of information... Going from thumb break to trigger guard retention is a bit scary..

Try a Crossbreed, or if you really want the Serpa, Blackhawk does make a Glock version of the holster that fits the Sigma Series Perfect. The only problem is I don't remember which Glock model you have to buy the holster to fit so that the Sigma will fit. I borrowed a sigma at Cabela's and just tried all the Glock holsters until I found the Serpa that fit.

The model for glock 20/21 fits the sigma 9mm, I'm not sure if the 40 is the same size.

While I did want the Serpa, when it comes to my carry holster, I would rather not have to mix and match one that fits. If they made one for my pistol, I would go with them. The Fobus is designed for mine. Thanks guys for all the help

I have the Serpa CQC model 410513BK-R (right-handed) for my SW40V in .40. This model is specifically made for the Glock 20/21. It's not a "perfect" fit, but very close. The trigger guard on my pistol binds slightly where it goes into the holster. After almost a year, I'm going to attempt to achieve 'perfection' by slightly filing down the inside of the holster.

If you still haven't gotten something by the next time you see me, ask me and I'll be happy to let you do a test fit.

I was in the area of Warner's Surplus today and decided to stop in and say hello to Rich. While I was there, I asked his wife about retention holsters for my pistol, and she walked me right over to their wall display of Blackhawk Serpas. The model you posted is an exact fit for mine, maybe because mine is a .40VE? No noticeable binding at all. I purchased it on the spot,... well not exactly on the spot. Rich came out and we introduced ourselves, and chatted away for about forty minutes. I think his wife was ready to hit him with the phone, as he kept telling her to put people on hold while we talked, lol.

Thank you for the input, it was a great help!
