Would you still carry if concealed carry were banned nationwide?
I just learned on a CNN web page that "Barack Obama: Supports national law against carrying concealed weapons, with exceptions for retired police and military personnel." http://edition.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008...ssues.gun.html
That made me ask the question "Would I still carry anyway?"
With the exception of occasionally speeding, I don't knowingly break the law. I make sure that I don't carry anywhere that it may possibly be illegal. But I have to think long and hard about totally giving up my right to carry just because some misguided politician happens to be in office.
We all know that it is possible to CC so that no one knows you are armed. If you are otherwise a respectable citizen and don't ever give an LEO a reason to search you, chances are you could carry discreetly for the duration of the stupid ban with no one the wiser.

A national ban?..... ummmm, I think I might not only continue, but there is a good chance I would be in the resistance.....

I fail to understand why anyone would state publicly that they intend to defy the law. Even if it is speculation... the world is watching.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

I wouldn't, I never carried illegally before I was 21 even though I had handguns and I see no difference. I waited until my wedding night on that one.
I'd run for constable though, get my firearms cert. and be legal.
If CC is illegal in a year I have a feeling this thread will be fresh in our minds

Let them know. I swore to defend the constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic. I don't see my answer as admitting to breaking the law.
