Re: Wild hog hunting
I think the ban on killing feral swine in Bedford County has been lifted.

Re: Wild hog hunting
One important improvement that needs to be made for hog hunting to be effective is to legalize semi auto rifles for hunting in PA.

"To my mind it is wholly irresponsible to go into the world incapable of preventing violence, injury, crime, and death. How feeble is the mindset to accept defenselessness. How unnatural. How cheap. How cowardly. How pathetic." -- Ted Nugent

Re: Wild hog hunting
I've never hunted hogs in PA, but I hunt hogs here in Texas, and you're absolutely right. When hunting hogs with a bolt action rifle, it really cuts down on the number of pigs you can kill. Even if you can run a bolt gun fast, accurately, and are good on movers, you still hardly ever kill more than 3. This is on open ground, where you have some line of sight on pigs getting out there a ways. You can kill more if they'll go out there a ways, and stand. In lots of PA where they have some cover, and not as large plots cleared, I can see how it would nearly be impossible to get pigs killed in any real numbers. Semi autos are definitely where it's at for killing hogs.
