Default Glock 21 vs HK USP Tactical Suppressed

I'm looking to acquire a new .45 as a host weapon for a Gemtech Blackslide suppressor. I have always been partial to Glocks, but shot a friends HK USP Tactical (full-size) with a can and was quite impressed. Obviously, the HK comes set up suppressor-ready but with a bigger price tag. But now that Glock offers factory-threaded barrels, I'm still leaning towards the 21. Anybody have experience with either or both? What raised sights did you put on your G21? Anybody have the C-More STS mounted? Any info both positive or negative would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and a Happy New Year to you and yours!

I have a USP Tactical in 40 S&W. It keeps the other guns that I don't shoot company. If I were to buy a suppressor ready pistol, it would be the FNP Tactical. If I were to pick out of the two, I don't know. I prefer the feel of the Glock over the feel of the USP. Maybe with the offset of the threaded barrel and the raised sights, if it gets me in the same price range or less of the USP, then I'd go with the Glock.

I love my USP Tac with or with out the Osprey on the end. One of the most accurate factory handguns i have ever shot. At the time it was the only factory threaded barrel and raised sights option, it was a no brainer for me. And i got a good deal i could not pass.

On the other hand i am not a Glock fan, not at all. They just dont feel good in my hand. How ever, they take the punishment that we put through our converted G19s and G21s with sears. No question, absolute tanks.

The price range is big difference though.
There were a pair of USP Tacs for sale a few weeks ago in the Classified section, a 9 and a 45 priced around $800 each i think.

Just out of curiosity, what made you pick the Blackslide?

Perhaps a bit out of my league but I'll jump in.

Dont forget about the HK45cT that is out now. Its no longer USP or bust. Not sure if they offer a threaded barrel for the fullsize HK45 but, that would be sweet.

You said Glock now has factory threaded barrels. Can you get that already installed when you purchase said Glock or is it, get a 21, get a threaded barrel after the fact as an accessory, then get suppresor hight sights, then get'em installed? If thats the case youre probably close to HK or the FNP45T prices. Unless you really like Glocks I say why bother and just get something that GTG right outta the box. OMMV

I agree with Nate...what made you want a blackside? I'm hoping that you have had it for sometime and just looking for a new host. But back on topic, I'm a glock fan do I would say run the glock....if I was looking for an out of the box gun...probably the fn as mentioned above. I'm just not a big HK guy...unless we are talking mp5's lol

I went with the HK USP45tac though at the time it was the only out of the box, suppressor ready 45 available. At this time I've been considering picking up one of the FN packages to for some variety. I enjoy shooting glocks but am not sure I would want to put the money into outfitting a 21 or 21sf to make it suppressor ready, I have a 19 and 17 that I shoot suppressed and they are nothing special and in fact I find them to be louder than other hosts including HK and Sig.

Everyone likes gun porn... sorry for the shitty pic, need to get the camera out and take some better ones!

oh and like everyone else said, whats the deal with the blackside?

What is the deal with the Blackside? Do you guys dislike them? Are they inferior to other designs somehow? Curious because everyone keeps asking the OP what the story is/why he got that one.

My question is sincere since I dont really know shit about suppressors

I got a great deal on the Blackslide and honestly, its my first foray into NFA after having established a Gun Trust. I've been told by many that it silences as well as the Osprey at a more friendly cost. I just did the paperwork on a Lone Star Saiga 12 SBS and a LWRC SBR as well, so my new passion is getting a lil outta hand financially, especially with 5 kids and Xmas! I take it you're not big fans of Gemtech? What are the reasons?
