What's up with the range at Scotia
I haven't heard anyone on here talking about Scotia. Is it still open? Are as many people using it now that you have to have a license? What's the road like? This was always talked about before they made you pay to use the range.

Re: What up with the range at Scotia
I stopped going there once they started with the fee crap. I figured, the fee, combined with the STUPID 3-rnd/6-rnd rule and other rules made it no longer worthwhile.
Instead, I'm joining a gun club which costs less, is closer to my house, doesn't have the dumb rules, and goes out to 300 yds.

Re: What up with the range at Scotia
I have not been there in years. What does it cost to use the range? I have a hunting license.

Re: What up with the range at Scotia
I was there a few weeks ago. They have modified hours, can't remember them off the top of my head, the road still has its pot-hole colonies spread through out. Still never enough backers on the Auxiliary ranges out side the fence. Still a lot of dumb/unsafe people us it.

Re: What up with the range at Scotia
I thought you meant Sciota, which is close to me in Monroe county, then realized it is in Centre county with a slightly different spelling. Whoops!
It's $30 for a year long range permit. I have been to 2 of ranges in the northeast. I have been there on about a monthly basis and have not seen anyone practicing for Hollywood movie roles, although I have heard some stories, not to mention the Tobyhanna Fort Dix Terror plot, if I may call it that. That may have been the reason for the start of the range permits....and they have a plan...

Re: What up with the range at Scotia
OSC will rake you over the coals with dues... I've looked at joining Liberty Twp too but I have yet to hear about weather I would be allowed to shoot my MG down there. At this point that is kind my deal breaker, if I can't shoot that I won't join.
As far as Scotia. I haven't been there much since they started the range pass bullshit as I refuse to get one as long as they have the retarded 3rd/6rd rule. oh and they forbid MG's as well...
