Default Would you attest to receiving a Centre Co. LTCF in ~15 minutes?

The word is that the defendant from http://forum.pafoa.org/concealed-ope...n-hearing.html is looking for corroboration of Centre County's actual procedure for issuing licenses within the past 5 years. IIRC, we know sheriff Denny Nau as one of the folks whose office will get you in and out in about 15 minutes.

Evidence of this is sought prior to end of business day tomorrow. If you've received a license in the past 5 years and are willing to draw up a simple letter including 1) approximately when you applied for your LTCF and the approximate total time from presenting your application to receipt of the LTCF, and 2) your name, address, and a signature, and have that letter possibly received by a court, please post here that you're willing and someone will be along shortly to take down your information... (Of course, this is for a hearing on Thursday. If you're in Centre County near the courthouse in Bellefonte in the morning, you could always consider walking in and asking to testify!)

I am guessing that you want new applicants not renewals. I fall under the category of renewals within the last 5 years - issued 9-16-07.

I will be renewing again shortly. In theory I could go down tomorrow to renew if that would help. I have many commitments tomorrow (day off) but could plan to be there when the doors open (would need to call today to see when that is).

And yes, if I remember correctly, the renewal process is very fast. It has been such a long time since I got the original.....I can't remember. It was quick though.

EDIT: Just called and 8:30 AM I was told I could come in to renew.

You're renewing after only 4 years?

I'm not too sure, but if someone is confused as to whether it's been three, four or seven years since the license was issued, it may state somewhere on the front of the license when it expires.

Sorry. I just had to combine those words with the user name.

The 2A does not GIVE us the right. It tells the gov they can not INFRINGE our right.

    I didn't think I was going crazy

There is nothing in the statutes that says exactly when you can renew. It does say that 60 days before expiration the sheriff is to send you a renewal application.

So some (most?) sheriffs take this as being that you can't renew until 60 days before expiration.

But if you really wanted to lose about a year on your current LTCF, you could renew now

Then of course there's the 6 months after expiration thing, but I don't feel like getting into that whole thing.

Because neither the UFA nor PSP regulations prescribe a renewals process that is different from that performed for a new applicant, the status of being a new applicant or a renewer doesn't matter.

As for date of application/receipt of LTCF, that is not of much matter as long as Denny Nau was the sheriff. Of course, I think the defendant is seeking letters attesting to dates near the following priorities: 09/02/2008, 04/14/2008, 01/17/2007, 08/31/2011. I'd actually say that going back 7-8 years would be fine, instead of 5. Any letter that can attest to the time it took from application, if that application timeframe is less than 2 hours, would seem to help.

The hearing begins at 8:30am tomorrow according to the docket. I do not know how long it is expected to last.
