IPSC target stands
Hey guys! This is primarily directed toward the PMSC guys but all input is welcome. I'm looking to make my own wooden bases to hold up IPSC style cardboards and essentially would like to duplicate what is already at PMSC. I'm curious what the dimensions are and if there maybe is a diagram with scale/measurements written on it available online. Thanks all.
Cheers,
Josh

Re: IPSC target stands
You can find a target sketch with dimensions here:
http://www.ipsc.org/
But I couldn't find anything about the bases for those targets and that's what you're looking for.
They do have a link to an IPSC forum at that site, you may be able to find your answer there. You have to register to view the forum.Last edited by mauser; October 27th, 2007 at 07:16 PM.

Or you can easily make some from PVC.

Re: IPSC target stands
i made some outta scrap 2x4s. i don't know if they match any kind of official specs, but the work well.
here is a rough diagram looking at it from the top. the lines represent 2x4s on edge. except the two short vertical (in the diagram) pieces in the middle. those are 2x2s (which are actually 1.5x1.5). ignore the periods, i just couldn't use spaces because the b-board software strips them out. ignore the spaces between the vertical lines, too.
│................│
├┬────────┬┤
├┴────────┴┤

the measurements are:
the two outside vertical (in the diagram) pieces are 2 feet long (just because i had a bunch of 2 foot scraps).
the distance between those two pieces..and, thus, the length of the horizontal pieces is 18".
the two horizontal pieces are 1.5" apart. the 2x2s (really 1.5x1.5) are 0.5" away from the outside 2x4s. this makes a 0.5" x 1.5" slot for replaceable 1x2s (actually 0.5x1.5) to hold up the the targets.Last edited by LittleRedToyota; October 27th, 2007 at 10:07 PM.

Re: IPSC target stands
Excellent guys! Thank you all very much. The metal cardboard target holders at our SGL's (scotia) are shot to shit and it usually takes an act of congress (or the summer) to get them fixed! So I say damn the man... I'm bringing my own!!
