Re: House Bill 2536 Offered
Just to be clear... especially for those joining our program already in progress...
This is how we want these bills to be voted on:
HB 40: YES
HB 2536: NO
I don't mean to dumb down the thread, but confusion about this could be very bad for us. :-)Tommy610, NRA Member, Romans 12:18

Re: House Bill 2536 Offered
So how does this happen?
This bill goes before the Judiciary Committee tomorrow!
2 weeks ago it was introduced and flies into the Judiciary Committee for a vote?
I think they caught us with our guard down trying to work HB40 through appropriations.

For those interested, please see this thread as well:

This was an alert thread created by WhiteFeather for HB2536. I don't want to merge the threads so close to vote and potentially cause more confusion, but please take some time to look there as well. There are some sample letters and other information regarding the vote that readers of this thread may be interested in.

Re: House Bill 2536 Offered
What I sent:
Dear Judiciary Committee member,
I strongly urge you to vote NO on HB 2536. There is no loophole to close, unless closing the loophole of municipalities using illegal requirements to deny Commonwealth citizens Licenses to Carry Firearms is the loophole you are talking about. This bill does exactly the opposite and encourages these criminal enterprises to continue flaunting the behavior in the face of the Legislature and the Citizenry. Demand the sponsors of this bill hold their localities responsible for following the current laws, before they try to pass legislation that accommodates their illegal activities and unnecessarily burdens the Citizenry of the Commonwealth.
So, again, I strongly urge you to vote NO on HB2536.
Thank you for your consideration,
God I hope I read that bill right... long day and just saw this...

Re: House Bill 2536 Offered
Hey guys, see this post here; it seems that the HB2536 was pulled from the voting schedule.
Nice work to everyone in sending out letters/email/etc. to their reps. As I stated in the other thread, although it can seem at times that our efforts don't help, we ARE having a noticeable effect on legislation in Harrisburg."Political Correctness is just tyranny with manners"
