My first OC encounter today.
Well, the Mrs got a phone call that she needed to fix something at work. So we decided to just get dinner there.
As I am standing in line at Arbys, taurus on my hip an older gentleman looked at it and asked me a question.
"Why are you packin that?"
I explained to him our rights, and our freedomes, and how some of us choose to stand for our rights. At that, he mentioned how his son was killed in Iraq fighting for our rights.
We started talking, and he asked me about the legality of OC, and also what kind of restrictions there are on what you can and can't carry. I answered all the things I know (like not needing a LTCF if you are not in a vehicle and the like), and then explained that I didn't have all the answereds. But I knew of a place that did.
So I got out my handy flyer, and started talking to him more about it. And he asked about carrying for self defense. I told him that my life, and the lives of those I love are too precious to risk. And that I also believe that OCing helps prevent some crimes from occuring.
He asked if I could email him a copy of the flier, I did him one better and gave him one of my extras. Told him where to go to get more, and where to go if he wanted more information. He did say he didn't know if he would OC or not, but said he was glad that he now knows a bit more about it. We talked a little more, and he thanked me, and also everyone who stands for freedom. And then he went on his merry way.
So, my first OC encounter, was with a kind older man, who was just curious about the laws, and issues that could arise from it.
The Mrs said that I looked giddy after it. I told her "Yeah, a good encounter, and I got a chance to help educate someone." He also has a kennel around here, and I might see about getting the dogs a hair cut lol.

+1 for you for educating another citizen of their rights. And, +2 for him at the loss of his son. Such a loss gives more insight than the rest of us can ever understand about our rights. People like his son are the reason we have the rights that we take for granted everyday. This man's son was truely one of the 3%.

Re: My first OC encounter today.
Seems the only place nobody bats an eye at OC is in East PA where half the people around me are from NY and 1/4 are from NJ. Been a very common theme for the past couple of years.
