Interesting comment by chief deputy sheriff
Some nut job in Lackawanna county got himself arrested for emailing a threat to Obama. I won't get into the print version of this story calling his 2 weapons and 11k of ammo an "arsenal".
The chief deputy, who is running for sheriff, said something interesting in the article.
Mr. Savino also held a permit to carry concealed firearms, issued by Lackawanna County in November. The license will be revoked, Dominick Manetti, chief deputy of the Lackawanna County sheriff's office, said Friday. Revocation is standard for anyone accused of a crime, he said.

I see you didn't get the memo.

Re: Interesting comment by chief deputy sheriff
. . . or perhaps it's because of this:
§ 6109 (i) Revocation.--A license to carry firearms may be revoked
by the issuing authority for good cause. A license to carry
firearms shall be revoked by the issuing authority for any
reason stated in subsection (e)(1) which occurs during the term
of the permit.
§ 6109 (e)(1)(viii) An individual who is charged with or has
been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for
a term exceeding one year except as provided for in
section 6123 (relating to waiver of disability or
pardons).Last edited by donm; September 14th, 2013 at 09:05 PM.

QUOTE=B.A.;2503068]And what makes the president so much more special? I thought we were all equal in this country? Just like cops having special laws to protect them.[/QUOTE]
Not even close. The President is not a person. it is an office. As a branch of the government it is vital the office be occupied at all times and that occupation be uninterupted. A disruption to the office is a weak point in the government and the perfect time for a coup or external attack. The Secret Service isn't protecting Obama, they are protecting the President...who happens to be Obama right now.
Even a few minutes without a bona fide head of state we are vulnerable. There are decisions only the President can make. Anything else is unConsititutional and brings with it a threat of an overthrow of the government, not exactly the direction we want to take.
Yeah, the chance that the assassination of a President is in fact a coup or attack is slim. But no slimmer than the original intent of the 2A, our (the people) right and ability to keep the government under our control. Leaving in force the ability to fend off any disruption or takeover is paramount to the continum of governance. The same applies for the President, whoever he or she happens to be at the moment.
Threatening the President is a felony, as it should be. Anyone stupid enough, arrogant enough or warped enough to openly do so is in itself a threat to the flow and continum of the government and therefore a threat to our very way of life. Think of it like bugs. You can kill the very first ones you see and end the problem or you can wait and see if they go away on their own.
Anyway, that is my take on this event. Don't be stupid and threaten the President, no matter how much you may not like him/her. And if you insist on such action then the penalty is the forfeiture of rights such as freedom and fireams. It ain't rocket science, it's just law. When the SHTF......be the fan.
