    Default Cell Phone Banning Poll..

I in no way want to take over bykers poll, so please just vote and discuss over therehttp://www.pafoa.org/forum/lounge-10...tlawed-pa.html... Or if the mods come across this and can just add a poll to bykers thread feel free to delete this(don't know if you can do that or not)..

But I am curious to see some numbers here...

I voted 'YES' but wouldn't this be tough to enforce? Cops would be busy all day pulling over women in my area!

Situational awareness applies to driving as well as self defense. We've all seen people do stupid stuff while talking on the cell (or touching up the makeup or reading the newspaper) while driving. Men are just as guilty as women. Cell use should at least be hands free. Just my 2 cents.

Absolutely. Many things should be outlawed while driving.

If one more moron cuts me off while talking on a cell phone, I'm purposely ramming in to their car. I HATE cell phones.

There are many reasons to be able to make a call on your mobile phone in your car.

First of all, I voted NO to banning it. I admit, I absolutely hate when someone is talking on their phone and doing stupid stuff on the road. I'm one of those "Can't talk, driving." people and never converse on the road. However, when I am lost, on a back road looking for a shop or someone's house, I don't see why I should be stopped or fined if I am not causing a disturbance. If I am causing one, there are numerous other charges for whatever malcontent I may be causing.

What about someone being pulled over by an unmarked vehicle? They may want to call to verify it's a real cop. What about reporting a traffic light that's out? 2 weeks ago I made a call about a light out at 5th and Penn Ave. a very busy intersection. I can't say I would have pulled over to make that call.

In short, there are plenty of legitimate reasons that would violate the letter of this law and maybe no the spirit but who wants a rookie Pittsburgh cop making that decision.

I spend 5 hours a day driving a school bus. I can't tell you the number of close calls I've seen because of dumbasses talking on their phones and not paying attention.

Hell just last week I was at a 4 way stop intersection. It was my turn to go but some broad talking away on her phone decided she was gonna go. I hit the brakes and then the horn long and loud. Only then did she look in my direction and her eyes get wide.

I voted no, I've already said my piece in the other thread and provided some independent data to reinforce it.
