All kidding aside, finding the right spring to control the secondaries should be fun. Light or heavy spring? I have a few questions for you, maybe some ideas. Don't know about VW, but I have been involved with fuel system mods.

what we at the dub shop are doing is making a retarded high rpm race type motor we are using custome floats and heavy springs so the 2ndarys won't open till w.o.t also useing all forged guts and light waight stuff where it can be used we are shooting for 250+ hp on a 1.8 ltr block with a 2.0 head if it works im putting one in the rabbit oh and we are hoping for 20 ish mpg too

Ahh isn't that cute, the little VW wants to grow up and drop it's horsepower.

Since I read this thread I worked with our CAD program at work and did an analysis of the air movement inside the 2.0 engine. I came up with a design that should be able to produce the power your looking for and the best part is, in SolidWorks I was able to build it, and test it before any part was made.

I attached a engineer drawing of how to make this happen and it actually doesn't involve any welding what so ever.

    Hope this helps Bender!

what with no engine under the hood, i can see how the air movement would be greatly improved.
is that like the modern day big boy down hill racer?
it's only metal, we can out think it....

    13 hours, and that's it??
vws are not bad wagens, they just never figured out how to put a drive shaft from the motor in the front to an axle in the rear....in fact i would take one over a datsun any day...of course my vw would have been made in stuttgart.

i would just add nitrous. instead of custom building everything.

or drop in a big block chevy motor

good luck with your rabbit bender.
