    Default ...:::> RIA 1911 Aftermarket Questions <:::...

    Hello all I am a new memeber just joined bout 5 minutes ago. I recently purchased a RIA 1911 GI model hoping to do add-ons to make it the way I like it. Was wondering if anyone could post or email me links to where I might find a trigger, hammer, beavertail, thumb safety, and slide release. I found the slide release I want from Wilson Combat and the beavertail just wanting to check out some other links some of you all may have. I saw one gentleman post up a RIA 1911 he made after market changes to and it was beautiful so hopefully he see's this post. Thanks in advance for any help!

    This would have been better posted in Firearms>>Pistols or Gunsmithing

    If you create a thread in one of those 2 forums you should delete this one.

    I think you'd get better chance at a response in Firearms>Pistols.

    ETA: Lookie there someone moved it for ya.

    You can find all kinds of add on, replacement, or modification parts at Brownells or midwayUSA. You can really trick out an RIA if you want to. Here's what I did to one of mine.

    No need to apologize - I just wanted you to get the attention your post deserved. Mods are pretty good around here at moving things when it gets pointed out.

    Now you have a great reply to go from!

    HVK VA, I got everything except for the front sight from Brownells. Go to their web site (www.brownells.com) and you can get their complete catalog and you can also get a catalog that is exclusively 1911 parts. If you decide you wan to buy from Brownells, come back on to PAFOA and go to them via the link here. IIRC, that will get you a 10% discount.

    The front sight came from Fusion Firearms, they also specialize in 1911 parts.

    Showoff :P
    The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.

    Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.
