Skunk question
hypothetically speaking if someone in a state that wasn't PA had an issue with a skunk that likes to hang around and spray their dogs and make a general nuisance of itself... what would be a good way for that someone to remove said skunk?
The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.
Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

Re: Skunk question
Here's what the state says:
Legal status
Striped skunks are considered furbearers, so they are
provided legal protection. A hunting license is required
before trapping skunks unless they are causing damage to
the property. If it is possible in your area, allowing trappers
onto your property during trapping season (October
through February) may alleviate your problem while
allowing the trapper some income and recreation. If skunks
are causing damage, the property owner may trap or
remove skunks without a hunting license.

Re: Skunk question
Live trap, 10 cc's of acetone in a hypodermic needle attaches to a long pole... The acetone will kill it quickly and it won't even have a chance to spray... XD40 Coyote gave that little hint a couple years ago...
If you see it, shoot it and call it a day...

Re: Skunk question
Is your yard infested with grubs? If it is, kill the grubs and the skunk will look for a new food source.
The older I get, the better I used to be.

Re: Skunk question
I trapped an adolescent skunk before by accident. We were using a Havahart
trap with peanut butter as bait for chipmunks that were digging holes in the garden...
I dont know how he fit in there but he did..then we just threw the trap with him still inside in a garbage bag, put him in the trunk of the car, and relocated him..
It didnt piss at all...maybe his glands werent developed yet..
If you own alot of land I would probably just shoot em' though.

Re: Skunk question
In the event that the person in my hypothetical can't shoot because of how close the neighbors houses are... what would be a good way for this person to lure the skunk into a trap so it could be "relocated"?
