Looking for a range in the erie area.
Hi guys. I'm new to the area and have only really been out to Gravel Pit Park in NE to shoot, but that place closes for the summer months and I'm gonna need to find a new spot. I currently only shoot handguns but I'd like to start getting into long range precision shooting. What range in the Erie are has the longest rifle range?
Oh and as far as clubs go I'm a little nervous about member only spots. I am heavily tattooed. I know older more conservative types don't really care for that and I respect their opinions but I'm not sure some of those places would care for me hanging around based on looks alone. I take firearms and the responsibility that comes with them seriously but when I walk into the gun shops in the area I'm rarely taken seriously or talked to at all.
Thanks,
Sabnock.

There are many here living in Erie county that belong to clubs. I'm sure one of them will be jumping in shortly.
As far as getting looked at funny...........I feel ya'!
Try being female with a heavy Brooklyn accent. Talk about funny looks? And as far as service? Oh, you have no idea!

Re: Looking for a range in the erie area.
Taking the Gravel Pit as a clue, I'll assume you are on the East side. North East has a nice club, but mostly trap oriented I believe. They have a covered rifle range that extends to 200 yds. Also, a newer addition of a pistol range that is usable simultaneously with the rifle.
Then there is Gem City S of Rt. 90, in Harborcreek (so they shouldn't be bothered by odd looks). They have a very nice indoor facility and run USPSA matches, indoor in winter and outdoors in the brief summer. Not sure of their rifle facilities, although I believe they have ranges.

I belong to Gem City in Harborcreek. Excellent club with great members. Multiple ranges make for good range availability.
