Re: Hey gun lovers of Wyoming co
Ranges? We don't need no stink'in ranges!
This is Wyoming County. We walk to our back forty and fire away.
FUDD...hmmm. I had to look this one up. By the urban dictionary definition, I may be offended. No, I do not have any evil rifles. Not that I don't want one, nor do I look with disdain at anyone that has one. Perhaps envy, but not disdain. I just do not know anything about them, other than what I read here on PAFOA. Hand guns? No problem here. I even enjoy going to our Sheriff's office and walking out with a LTCF within 15 minutes.
So, any friendly Wyoming County members, with cool guns or evil rifles want to show me about them, and let me shoot them, I have my little 100 yard range ready. One shooting bench, no waiting. With enough notice I could probably set up for 200 yards, but you better have some great optics for these old eyes! Yeah, it may not be for those city boys, you know, you do have to walk on grass to get to your target, and it is a little uphill...
Just don't call me a FUDD, and you will be welcome.

Re: Hey gun lovers of Wyoming co
I have the same problem as you...such a long walk to my backyard shooting range. I do have several black guns but I'm not a big fan...prefer the mini-14.
And in Wyoming County we show respect so please call us Mr. Fudd until we know you better...then Elmer will suffice.

Re: Hey gun lovers of Wyoming co
I shoot with some guys from Dallas township police for pistol, rifle, and trap. We do have our own range also, but I was just suggesting to see if anyone wanted to meet up. I'm open to traveling. I have about 5 or 6 place in the ground targets that are quick so you can put the silhouette targets on.

I'm in tunkhannock. I hate traveling to either range.and can go to my brothers sometimes unless he gets a would hair up his butt. Wish their was some place closer to shoot.i have all kinds of guns of every sort. And I reload. would be nice not to have to drive 45minutes to test some new loads.

Re: Hey gun lovers of Wyoming co
Checking in from the Noxen Back country (Stull area) we don't need no "Ranges" here we just walk out back. or shoot from the porch if its raining.

Not nice.
FUDD
The slang term for gun owners of what could be called limited tastes. They are thought of as being casual gun owners and nut true supporters of the Second Amendment. These are the guys that Diane Feinstein is talking about when she talks about acceptable gun ownership.
Two characteristics normally identify a FUDD.
#1: Very limited range of shooting interests. A FUDD could have just 1 gun, or more than 153 guns, but all those guns fall within a very limited range of interests. The interest that defines a FUDD is "sporting purposes". All their 12 ga wood and blued steel shotguns, bolt action rifles, 44 magnum revolvers, and 9mm pistols only have one purpose: sport. These guns are either for hunting, or they are for marksmanship and trap competitions. Nothing they have is supposed to take the role of a dedicated defense gun, or a daily carry gun. They wouldn't be caught dead with anything black polymer, tactical, or concealable. If you ask them why they own guns, the typical answer is for hunting or for sport. If you ask them about personal defense, expect either half-assed answer about a shotgun loaded with birdshot, or just calling the Police.
#2: Provincialism in applying the Second Amendment. By the estimation of a FUDD, the Second Amendment exists to let him hunt deer, shoot quail, play trap, and punch targets. They will likely talk about how nobody needs an "assault weapon" or anything like that. FUDD type sentiment is what brought about the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban, as well as many other ultimately pointless laws. The FUDD does not care so long as they can keep their M1903a3 Springfield and their custom Beretta double-barreled shotgun. They are willing to sacrifice other sections of the gun community to save themselves.

Just thought I might try and dust this forum off a little bit. Anybody still living in the Endless Mountains?
