Tatt question
My girl wants a tatt for her birthday. I hate them, but if I pay for it at least I can have a say as to how big (small) it is.
Anyway, how much do they cost? She wants something small on her back (yes, tramp-stamp).
Also, where is a good place somewhere near West Chester?

Re: Tatt question
Forum rules dictate that if you help her get it, you must post pics of it.
Really.
Look it up.

Re: Tatt question
A new tatt can go anywhere from a shop-minimum of 80 bucks, to 500 bucks for something big and colorful... Time and ink really dictate the price. Some colors are more expensive. Black is cheap and most any tattoo artist can make their own black ink, which really saves money also... Get an idea in your head, draw something out so you have an idea, and then shop around... If you see people walking down the street, ask them questions, they love to talk about them... The more tattoos, they more they like to brag about it...

Re: Tatt question
Honestly, even if you are paying for it is is hers forever so I would let her pick the design and size. I know it's your gift, but it's just how it works.
Embrace the tramp stamp, they can look good if done right.
Also, consider getting a grid for windage and elevation adjustments.

Re: Tatt question
Tattoos are wonderful- I'm just about to get my 4th one.
Even if you think you hate tattoos, just wait until your girl gets one- you'll probably love it. In general, girls pick simpler and more colorful ones. Plus, if she does want a "tramp-stamp," at least you'll have something to look at while you're...cleaning.
With size, I think girls can only get away with big tattoos in their arms or upper back/ shoulders. Anything else just looks bad. For lower back, try to stay around 5" x 6" or smaller. Those are a bit more painful too, so small/ medium is perfect. For something around that size, you should not be paying more than $300- $350, even if it is quite detailed and colorful. If they try to charge you more than that, haul ass to another place."Pride and dignity are good, but only in moderation." P-11 Shooter

Re: Tatt question
Just remember, especially with girls, to be careful where it's located. Small of the back should be fine, but when girls (or guys for that matter) want to show off that 6-pack and get a tat on their gut...it's not forgiving to weight fluctuations. Don't want that butterfly looking like a camel...
I wish I could get another one but my wife won't let meI own guns!
