Default opinions wanted for what to do with my first pistol

The pistol is a kel tec pf9, and i'm looking to replace it with something like a G26/M&P9c so it would be filling the same job. Should i keep the pf9 as it was the first gun i bought or use it to fund my next purchase? Any of you regret getting rid of your first gun even if you wouldn't be carrying it regularly.

I'm not too sentimental about it now but i don't want to regret getting rid of it incase i grow sentimental later in life.

    Pros
-first gun i bought (and only handgun)
-would make a decent backup/home/vehicle gun
-when the zombies come i want the most guns for me and my team
    Cons
-starting to not like its recoil as compared to other 9mm
-want some extra rounds and magazine options
-not as accurate as i would like to be with it

    Just give it to me.

It would be a nice gesture as a fellow gun owner.

If it doesn't have any true sentimental value, dump it. For lack of better words, it's a discount gun. It's not of high quality and it doesn't hold value very well. I would sell it and purchase something from the glock or xd line. They hold value, and are much better guns in terms of fit/finish/capacity/accessories/holsters/not to mention, reliability, you name it.

The kel tec may be reliable, but glock/xd's are on another level.

Although I've sold the first few guns I ever owned for other purchases, it really doesn't bother me. Had I used them to defend my life, or they were purchased as gifts by loved ones, then maybe I would look at it differently. If it was a rare gun, or had certain features not commonly found, then again, I may keep it.

NEVER let go of your first gun, you'll regret it within minutes. I have both my first rifle (41years) and handgun (31years). In fact, try to never let any gun go unless it's just an extra, your unhappy with it or have to have the cash. There is only one gun I don't regret getting rid of, a Raven .25 POS....it now lives in the Everglades under the muck. And I sorely regret selling my Colt Trooper .357. Keep it forever. Just my opinion, but one borne of experience, keep your guns.

Your first gun is like your first girl. Yeah she may not be the best you'll ever have but you'll never forget it. Also like your first girl you'll most likely move on to better ones. My first gun was a Hi-Point 9mm, I sold it to a friend. It was also his first semi-auto.

Does that make my old gun a slut?

Thanks for the input guys, i think i'm gonna keep it for now and have it as a backup should i need it. I'll re-evaluate my need to keep it once my collection grows but for now i'll stick with the more the merrier. That is unless i get an insane offer for it.

and yes quigar57, it sounds like you gun got around if you know what i mean but unlike my girl i don't think my gun minds if i bring old or new ones into the picture.

I was compelled to sell my first pistol but about 20 years later, I got it back. I've only sold one gun voluntarily and I don't regret that one. Everything else that comes here, stays here.

Keep it. It's nice to have a wide variety in your arsenal. Then you always have the right gun for the job. Plus, it seems pretty obvious you've got the fever, so you'll be buying more and more guns. It's ok, it happens to all of us. Maybe in the future if you find a gun you really, really, really want you can hock the PF9. But if you're just looking for a casual upgrade, give it some thought.

I sold my first gun last week. I'm giving serious consideration to going and buying it back.
Selling off a a sizeable Spyderco collection here
