DO not do anything until you speak with a lawyer, preferably one well-versed in PA gun laws, before attempting to obtain a CCW permit in Phila.

    Trust me.

Lawyer? For a LTCF in Philadelphia?

As far as I can tell, Pennsylvania has reciprocity with Michigan.

Below is a link that will allow you to print an application for your LTCF in Philadelphia.

You'll have to go to the "Gun Permit Unit" at 10th and Spring Garden.
    Good luck...

    Yep.
    Lawyer.

I just got mine. After six months of fighting for it. If I had simply hired a lawyer before I went to get it, I'd have saved myself a lot of time, heartache, and money.

Please keep in mind I have a spotless criminal record, and plenty of training & licesnses from two other states.

My advice stands: Talk to a lawyer before you talk to PPD.

You'd have to ask them, I suppose.

I had no trouble, either. govmule84, you haven't angered any City Councilmembers or PD Captains, have you? :-)

To the original poster, you'll find plenty of info about carrying in Philadelphia in these forums. A lot of the info here is quite negative about the city itself. Yup, it has problems. Yes, it's a fairly anti-firearm city.

And yes, it can be a great place to live. It's what you make of it.

Yes, the best damn lawyer in the world would be needed to get a CCW from Philadelphia.

A LTCF however can be had with simple paperwork.
