Shoot/Camp/Hang out?

I am posting this to gauge interest in having a get together of sorts in Blair County. I have cleared with the wife either the weekend of July 24 or July 31.

I have 77 acres of land in the southern end of the county to use. I plan to have a 50 or 75 yard rifle range, as well as an area for pistol shooting. I don't think there is enough open space to shoot clays though.

Parking for about 10 cars/trucks or so; more can be arranged. I also plan to have some sort of fire for cooking. There is room for tents if people want to make it a 2 day event.

If we get enough interest, I will see if I can get some small door prizes donated from one of the local gun shops. I am also willing to bring some reloading equipment and give a demo on reloading.

I can already tell you that Jailkeeper can't come....the wind won't be blowing at a 7 mph steady out of the NNW between the hours of 2 and 4 PM on either day.


It would be nice if it could happen, just seems like to me the Blair Co guys have enough trouble meeting up for dinner.

What is this range in Portage I keep hearing about? Public/private? Cost?

10 bucks a year membership and 10 bucks for the range gate at Martinsdale . Private club .

I was out last Friday.Got a remington 700 .308 tactical.I was breaking in the barrel.Maybe this weekend.
