LTCF Arrived Today... whoo hooo.... Just one QUESTION
It took 35 days and $28.50 but my new plastic LTCF arrived safe and sound..... now the next thing I need is a supressor/silencer... I'll have to head to Eds sport shop for that...
Anyways my question is: Does the LCTF cover rifles/long guns as well as pistols...?? meaning... Can I (have/not have) loaded rifles/shotguns/long-guns... say in my vehicle... even though I have a valid LTCF??

NO !!!!
For long guns you are STILL REQUIRED to have the weapons UNLOADED , with the ammo in a SEPERATE container. Now , that being said, my understanding is that something like a soft sided long gun case , with the weapon INSIDE and the ammo ( even in loaded mags) stored in the OUTSIDE pockets DOES meet the statutory requirement for unloaded storage during transportSi vis pacem, para bellum

Re: LTCF Arrived Today... whoo hooo.... Just one QUESTION
No. Your LTCF only covers "Firearms" as defined by 18 Pa. C.S.A. § 6102:
"Firearm" Any pistol or revolver with a barrel length less
than 15 inches, any shotgun with a barrel length less than 18
inches or any rifle with a barrel length less than 16 inches, or
any pistol, revolver, rifle or shotgun with an overall length of
less than 26 inches. The barrel length of a firearm shall be
determined by measuring from the muzzle of the barrel to the
face of the closed action, bolt or cylinder, whichever is
applicable.

Re: LTCF Arrived Today... whoo hooo.... Just one QUESTION
Sorry. I do not wish to start a debate. But you overpaid by $3.50 for your LTCF.
The issuer is only allowed to charge upto $25 by PA law.
If the issuer charged you over $25, they have committed a summary offence.
I know and agree. The cash amount is pointless. But the fact it is against the law makes this very important.Last edited by biggs88; April 28th, 2010 at 12:17 AM.

I apologize for asking this off-topic, but are you in Luzerne County? I am surprised about the 35 day wait. When I renewed last year (while Savokinas was still sheriff, mind you) I walked out with my LTCF in 15 minutes.
