can you apply before your 21st birthday and receive your license on your birthday?
Do your references have to be from PA?
Thanks in advance

Re: LTCF Application Question
You must be 21 to apply.
References, by law, DO NOT have to be from PA. However, some sheriffs disregard this and try to say they have to be from your county or from PA.

Re: LTCF Application Question
Looking at your sheriff's website "gun permit instructions"...he is charging an illegal amount ($46; should be only $25) for the LTCF and also is placing illegal restrictions on references. He is also using an outdated LTCF application.

Re: LTCF Application Question
Unfortunately, DelCo says (however illegal it may be) "45 business days". That could be as long as 9 weeks (63 calendar days or longer, if there are included holidays).
It's like the wild West out there so far as sheriffs having their own "interpretations" of what the statutes mean.

Re: LTCF Application Question
I suppose Ill just have to grin and bare it. Still better than NY. am i correct in thinking that i can ask for a paper permit and pay the legal fee of 25 and laminate it instead of the 46 for the pvc card? is it better to just fill the app out there or is the one online correct?
