Default 1952 Kids Pistol Drawing Contest (pic heavy)

This morning I was perusing LIFE's photo archive on Google. I was blown away when I saw this photo set of a kid's pistol drawing contest from 1952. Never heard of such a thing. They didn't list in the description where the pictures were taken. I can't even imagine how hard the S would HTF if this were to take place today. Here are only a few of the pics.

Hmmm. I can see them. Maybe the files are too large. Below is a link to the complete set in the LIFE photo archives.

I changed the pics to attachments rather than embedding them in the body of the post.

Wow. If only we knew who these kids were and could see how they turned out. Surely they must all have become psychopathic killers since they were exposed to guns at such an early age.

Oh for the good old days. Kids dressed nicely. Guns were acceptable. No one screamed when an adult man helped a little girl put the gunbelt on.

Except for health care and racial issues, I think we were far better off back then.

What health care issues? When you got sick you called the Doctor and he came to your house to check you out. If you were really sick, he'd send you to the hospital, if not he wrote your prescriptions. You paid him $5 for the house call and that was the end of it.
