Remington Model 141 BOD question ???
I recently picked up a Remington model 141 in 35rem and I am trying to find out the born on date for this rifle. I’m not sure I got it correct but I did find the letters WF on the left side of the barrel near the frame. I came up with W-Aug and F-1937 is this correct???
B - Jan L - Feb A - Mar C - Apr K - May P - Jun
O - Jul W - Aug D - Sep E - Oct R - Nov X - Dec
M - 1921 N - 1922 P- 1923 R - 1924 S - 1925
T - 1926 U - 1927 W -1928 X - 1929 Y - 1930
Z - 1931 A - 1932 B - 1933 C - 1934 D - 1935
E - 1936 F - 1937 G - 1938 H - 1939 J - 1940
I had also got 2 boxes of ammo with the gun it looks to be several years old with this being an older gun would it be safe to use the modern ammo... Thanks in advance for the help...

Re: Remington Model 141 BOD question ???
You can call Remingon and give them the serial number and they will tell you exactly when it was made. I was working on a Remington Model 8 with a 4 digit s/nand they were able to tell me, within a couple of minutes of searching, when it was made (it was 2nd year of production, 1907).
