Did you get your LTCF the same day you applied?
Note: I am posting this here in "Concealed & Open Carry" because a LTCF is needed to open carry in Philly.
This topic came up in another forum and I am curious. It seems to me that most counties do not issue LTCFs the same day.
My distinguished brother forum member (jcabin) says just the opposite.
So to satisfy my curiosity, I'd like to try and have one member from each county, who has recently gotten a LTCF, to reply with how many calendar days (or how many minutes, if same day!) it took to get it from when your application was submitted to when you had the license in your hand.
Also, please include the date you received the LTCF, so we know how recent the information is.
I know, it will probably be hard to get all 67 counties' info, but it will be a start. If we see that a certain county has not been represented, we (I) can always call the sheriff's depts. there and ask.
If you see someone from your county has already replied, please don't reply yourself unless you have gotten your LTCF more recently and the wait time has significantly changed (like from a couple weeks to the same day).
Also please state if this was a new (first time) license or a renewal.
ETA: Please also state if you applied at the actual courthouse or satellite office, if your county has these.

I had to wait 3 or 4 weeks when I got mine here in Pittsburgh back in 2007. I doubt it has changed.
ETA:
This was my first LTCF.Last edited by Himni; April 15th, 2010 at 02:45 PM.

Clinton Co.
My wife got hers more recently than I. 10/30/09. In and out less than 1 hr. Would have been 15 min but got to talking with the Sheriff and 2 Deputies I know.
I would have had mine the same day but 3 out of 4 times PICS has put me on research. One was for LTCF. They called back to sheriff's office 1/2 hr after I left. Sheriff's office called as I got home. Went down next morning because I had worked 11-7am and was tired.
The other 2 times PICS called back in 1 hr.The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned.

Originally issued in Delaware County in 1999. It took 4 weeks.
Moved to Wayne County. Due to me being unable to read, it lapsed by almost 6 months. Renewal in Wayne Co. in 2005 took 40 minutes start to finish (including the personal interview w/ the former Sheriff w/ all 8 of us who were there.)
I'm due to renew this fall w/ the new Sheriff.Sed ego sum homo indomitus

Chester County: pretty consistently around 3 weeks for new license. No extra "hoops" to jump through. $25 paper, $46 laminated.
