I have a Ruger LCP and it's a great Summer gun. I have one of the wallet type holsters too, and it's great to slip in the pocket ! I really like the look of the new S&W 380 with built in Laser - I have my gun guy grabbing me one as soon as they are available - I had originally heard May, but now I hear June ?

Ok, make that a lot of good things and one bad......
Definitely something to consider however all of the reports I've read and everything else that I have heard locally regarding the Diamondback have been positive.

I can get over the ONE report I have heard about the Diamondback exploding plus Bob @ CP said they have (and this isn't a mis-print) a 2 day turn around when sending guns back.

One of the things to negatives about a Diamondback is that it's a ammo snob.

The pocket .380's have about run their course when it comes to popularity, in my opinion. I fondly remember the "good old days" during the ten round magazine limitation nationwide during the "assault weapon ban." That federal regulation did a really interesting thing, it made handguns smaller and more powerful. The ten round magazine limit brought a whole array of mid size to compact powerhouses in .45 ACP, 10mm, .40 S&W, .44 Special and .41 Mag to the market.

What I have a hard time understanding is that now the magazine capacity limitation is long gone, small guns in weak calibers with low magazine capacity are in vogue.

However, I have shot the out of fashion pocket .45's and I must say they are more pleasant to shoot then todays micro .380's. Most probably will not believe me, yet the .45 ACP is a lower pressure round then the .380. The .45 comes in at 21,000 psi while the .380 comes in at 21,500 psi!!! If I were choosing, I would go with a pocket .45 like a Kahr with the polymer frame. Of course I would never be carrying an autoloader unless it was made by Smith and Wesson and had a revolving cylinder. (well, except for my HK P7, but that would only be to match my outfit)

    Out comes the revolver guys.......

Size Steve. You know this, we've talked it to death! I want a 380 as my PPS just isn't small enough to throw in my pocket.
