Because he's the republican darling hand picked by the repub. establishment, and was robbed of his shot at glory.

I have no doubt Mitt or Newt will be the saviors propped up next time.

I saw the straw poll results. I thought everyone saw right through that flaming RINO. Romney as the R candidate, means Obama wins a 2nd term by a comfortable margin.

I know he beat Ron Paul by 1 vote in the SRLC poll, but what other polls are we speaking about? let me go on record and say that he's a RINO..I don't even think he qualifies as a neo-con.

Never liked the guy. He changes his positions based on convenience. We need someone with integrity.

What ever happened to all the talk of Scott Brown pulling an "Obama" and running for President in 2012?

Because the Republican party is looking for a candidate that will appeal to the 1/3 that actually chooses our President. 1/3 always vote Democrat and 1/3 always vote Republican. It's the 1/3 that are truly Independents that will ultimately sway the vote. They are searching for that candidate.

At this moment, Mitt and Ron appear to be "that candidate." We've yet to see what the Tea Party has to say about the Republican candidate, though...

The problem is that he would be better than what the other side is running and that's all it takes to have him end up winning. The worse the D's run, and they're hell bent on doing worse and worse as possible, the easier it is for the worst R's to come forward. They/we don't demand the best because the other side isn't offering anything competitive in being better so it ends up as nothing more than political inbreeding. Equally as problematic is the adoption of the product convergence tactic: trying to win the middle by narrowing the gap between the two choices so much that they win by law of averages.
