    Default Sharpshoots bag 94 deer

This nauseates me, paying taxpayer money for something bow hunters would do for free.

Several Lower Makefield supervisors are disappointed the recently-concluded deer sharpshoots bagged only 94 deer.

Bryon Shissler, a wildlife biologist and consultant working with the township on its deer management, said he had hoped the shoots done by White Buffalo Inc. would have gotten 200 deer. In its report to the township, the company listed heavy snows and the required public hunt done before the sharpshoots as factors in the low number of deer killed in the shoots.

It will be weeks or maybe months before any decision is made on doing another round of sharpshoots, the supervisors indicated.

Wasn't the meat donated to food banks and other places? ...I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere that it would have been.

Why not charge for regular hunters to come in and do the same thing?

This way instead of wasting taxpayer money, they could EARN some.

I bet you they'd have to stop the hunt due to all the people who would show up.

yup thats exactly what I said. hell you could charge 25 - 50.00 / tag and I guarantee it would sell out in no time.
The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.

Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

I'm not sure I'm sold on these "Sharpshoot Hunts". I guess if the deer are causing enough of a problem for the municipality than who am I to question? But I can see why "Citizen Hunters" were not permitted. The liabilty I am sure is huge, one jackassed fool takes a lenn than perfect shot and kills or injurs someone else then whose to blame. You and I know its the shooter, but Jhonny Public says it will be th TWP's fault.

Maybe I don't truly understand the problem, can someone explain it better? Are the deer causing damage to a flowerbed in the big city?
Are they jumping in front of speeding vehicles on the free way and attempting to injur or scare children?

Heh idiots. Sharpshooters don't know how to hunt, theyre SHOOTERS. it takes a HUNTER to hunt. Let some BOW HUNTERS in there and they'll get the job done and no one will even know the hunt was on.
