M&P quality?
I bought a new M&P9 compact a few months ago and I love it. I have shot about 1000 rounds out of it. But today at the range after putting about 10 rounds of out it I noticed something odd.
One of the white dots on the rear sight was missing. It looks as if it fell out from shooting. I thought the white was painted in, not a dot that was probably glued in. So now my 3 dot sights are down to 2. I will be calling S&W in the morning to ask them what happened and for it to be fixed or replaced. I have heard good things about their customer service so I'm hoping it gets resolved. Other than this I've been more than happy with this gun.
I might ask them for some more of those mag floor plates with the pinky extensions since the flat one is so much harder to shoot with.
Has anyone else ever heard of this happening or had any issues like this with their M&P's?Guns don't kill people, it's mostly the bullets.

Never heard of anything like that, I thought they were painted on too.
Did it fall out after 10 rounds or did you just notice it then? Did you find it?

Re: M&P quality?
Without the extensions I do not like to shoot my wifes. She likes the extensions also. All the extra mags we bought had extentions.
I will have to let her know about the dots. We assumed they were painted on.
Thanks for the Info.

Re: M&P quality?
I have a M&P45 fullsize and a M&P9c for the wife, never looked that closely but I'll have to take a close look at them tonight! Thanks for the heads up.
Let us know how the S&W factory treats you, from everyone I've talked to they will make it right for you.

Never had any issues with my M+P. But I would call customer service and tell them as this is a new pistol and that should not happen.

I would be surprised if S&W did not take care of this. Keep us posted.

Re: M&P quality?
Love my M&Ps ... I haven't noticed anything with my dots.
I did have an issue with 9c, where the slide would lock back with one round left in the mag. Thought it might be a spring/rod issue. Called S&W and they shipped me a new one free. They said I could ship the gun back to them and they would test it for me, but I didn't feel like sending it out.

Re: M&P quality?
if they were painted they would wear off over time, especially with oils and dirt.
its probably a white plastic peice inbedded in the sight like night sights.

Re: M&P quality?
This happened with my GF's Walther P22. I believe it was the white dot on her front sight. The good folks at S&W had a replacement sent out and to her house within a few days.
