Interesting idea. My initial thoughts:

This can't be for highway use anymore, so whoever buys it will be limited to shorter trips.

What kind of safety will it offer in a crash? I've rolled one car already on my life and am a big fan of airbags after smacking a dear @ 95. I can't imagine this would be good in a wreck and I can see plenty of lawsuits out of it.

WTF They are putting the entire budget for 3 quarters into this project? Hope it does not backfire (and it just might)



that being said, my commute is short and on back roads. I love the looks and simplicity and if the price is truly sub 1k as in the article this might just be a nice little car for me. Already cheaper than my bike was....

Well, cant be worst then the F-150 pickups, Speaking of this My neighbor has a 92 pickup, 68K miles on it, and has not run in the past 2 years, he needs an engine bad, but all the engines he found so far clack as bad as his does!

Knowing this, why is the F-150 not a sub 1K truck?

If that $950 isn't a typo, I'd buy one or two in a heartbeat. I'm by no means a Ford fan, but a chance to buy an American made, by American man power(not robots) - it'd be worth it to me.

Sign me up for one. It'd be nice to have a different "summer car" for putting around.
