    From what I've heard, a lot of the "Special Ops" (USMC Recon, SEALS, etc) have still been using the .45 and it looks as if this is an order to replace and buy more units for the SOC crowd, but not to replace the M9 that the rest of us carried...

    I like the idea of the 45acp, just think that the 7rnd mag is old with current manufactors making larger round mags in newer pistols.

    I think a friend of mine who is a SEAL, upon completing BUD/S and SQT etc. (where he was issued a SIG), was given options. One of them was the HK USSOCOM Mark 23 (in .45), which he chose.
    However, don't quote me on the "options" part. I'm not positive about whether he chose the Mark 23 or was issued the Mark 23 after completing the program. Either way, he now uses the Mark 23 in .45

    From personal experience, we never changed from the 1911 platform.......45apc. The fleet was all changed over and we were still plugging along with 1911 A1 Colts. I never even handled an M9 let alone have one issued.
