Default Bridgeport Resolution on 'Lost and Stolen'

Anyone see this? A resolution in support but not an ordnance?

CeaseFirePA revealed that 96 percent of Pennsylvanians support a lost or stolen handgun reporting requirement reform, including 92 percent of gun owners.
WHAT?!?! Anyone here ever take part in this poll?

Bridgeport and West Conshohocken adopt stolen firearm ordinance

BRIDGEPORT -- Bridgeport and West Conshohocken have joined 30 other municipalities in Pennsylvania that have adopted resolutions in support of lost or stolen handgun reporting requirements.

State Rep. Tim Briggs, D-Montgomery, praised the boroughs for taking action in support of the reform, which will require that lost or stolen firearms be reported missing to the police upon discovery of their absence.

“Municipalities across the Commonwealth are sending Harrisburg a clear message and we are listening,” Briggs said in a press release. “The unprecedented wave of support for sensible reform has been bipartisan and from communities both big and small. Not only is this proof that the crisis of illegal guns on our streets is impacting all Pennsylvanians, but it is proof that once again my colleagues in the legislature need to catch up to the times and join their local officials in voting for a safer Commonwealth.
    What a terrible state representative.

Check out the Hatboro thread as well - Bridgeport and West Conshohocken are discussed in there a little.

So as I understand it, this proposal has already failed at the state level (even with "96 percent of Pennsylvanians" in support of Lost & Stolen). So CeaseFirePA decides their next option is to pressure local municipalities to illegally adopt this law. And with enough municipalities passing ordinances or resolutions, the state would figure the path of least resistance is to pass the Lost & Stolen law.

That's their goal, and they don't give a damn if they conspire with municipalities to violate the law.
