Default Worst gun deal(s) you ever made?

Looking back, there are some firearms related deals I wish I had taken advantage of when I didn't, and some I wish I hadn't gone through with when I did. I think it's safe to say that many others have experienced similar situations, and thought it would be interesting to hear everyone's thoughts on the matter. Feel free to include the purchase/sale price and scenario of the deal if you wish. Oh, and I do not intend this thread to be for the sake of bashing others for their past decisions....they obviously realize the deal was bad or they wouldn't be posting it.

To start things off, here's my worst deals:

    • Selling my Ruger 10/22 to help pay for my Mini-14. I only got $100 for the gun, didn't really need to sell it, and now wish I had it back. At the time, I couldn't imagine needing a semi-auto .22 and a semi .223....big mistake. This was pre-PAFOA of course.

    • Not buying an SKS when they went for $130 new out of the box at gun shows. I seriously considered it, but at the time they just seemed so 'cheap' and readily available that I thought I could buy one whenever I wanted for that price. Ended up buying a K98 instead and regretted it.

    • Not buying a Marlin 1895 Cowboy model for $450. The gun was used but in great shape, and I knew it was a good deal but couldn't justify the money at the time. Still not sure I could really justify it, but that doesn't keep me from wishing I had bought it.

    • Not buying a Swedish M1896 for $160. This was a recent find of mine. Went to the local shop early one Saturday in January, saw they had one in absolutely beautiful shape for $160 cash, went to the bank to get money, came back to check the bore and internals (I know, should've checked them first), found the bore was only in mediocre shape and the bolt had issues, and didn't have enough time that day to discuss the matter further with the shop employees. I didn't feel comfortable about the bore and bolt without talking to the gunsmith, so I figured it was better to just pass up the deal. Of course, I know I'll never find one in that shape (externally, at least) for that price anytime soon.

I'll admit it even though it makes me wince to type it. Paying $500+ for a WASR. After the initial butt-hurt I will say it is one of my favorites.

Also not buying a IHC Garand for $1000 because "Why do I need 2 Garands?".

Trading off my S-42 G Luger, all matching s/n with (aluminum, Hanel magazines numbered -1 and -2) with 99%, including its custom leather holster and toolkit == for a pile of reloading equipment in 1966.

I've kicked my own butt for 44 years.

Probably my worst would be trading a howa 1500 .243 for a Uberti henry 1860.

Not buying an AK back in 2000, and buying an mini-14 instead.

Not only did I not like the mini-14, but I lost money on it. The AK would have been awesome, and I probably could have sold it for 2-3 times what it cost in 2000.

My worst has to be when I was a young lad and my stepfather offered to give me, yes, for free, a Ruger MKII, blued, bull barrel, with the older style (not like the new style with half checkering) target grips. And I said, naa, I don't want that.
