Then they (Anvil Arms) went out of business. Fun times.
I believe we paid $100 ea for them including the laser engraving.

That carbine pictured is skating on thin ice. If money gets tight again, it's one of two AR15s I will consider selling.
I will say that I'm debating swapping out the lower to a "plain" one if I do. That's my first AR15 and without PAFOA it may have never happened.
Ah that was long before my time lol. That is a nice looking rifle all around. The engraving just looks good with the furniture color.

The engraving is white - it's dirty in that photo. The engraving area tends to get dirty.

It actually looks better dirty (in the photo anyways). When you posted the second PAFOA rifle, I thought "Oh, its not really gold" lol. Goes well with the magpul stuff.

Lots of places do engraving. The best way to do it would be as suggested above and get it from someone direct rather than sending a lower out to be engraved.

I have the proper PAFOA logo file needed if anyone wanted to get Dan's OK to do it.
(I am not setting up a group buy)
We should get Dan's permission to set up another group buy. They would definitely go. I'd be in for one.

I would probably be down for another one from a solid company.

My original one was machined wrong and, after fighting about it, I returned it and was refunded.
Anvil said they would not give me a replacement even though I offered to pay for another one and pay for the engraving...
no wonder they are out of business.
    lolz

Anyways, maybe we can check Allegheny Arms... local business support and I think they even have their own line of lowers.

If not, maybe some PSA stealth lowers that we can send off to AA for the logo.

    Just some thoughts.

    Oh yeah... picture thread...

I dunno if they are still in business, but Amish Arms is a local PA company that make pretty nice lowers for a good price. I have one of their "Buggy15" lowers with the funny safety/firing markings, and its decent quality for the $80ish.

Had both of these for a while, but haven't had a comparison shot between these two retro bois. The AR is a Brownells XM16E1 clone, though I replaced the three-prong E1 flash hider with a A1 flash hider after I bent one of the prongs slightly while wrenching it off. Brownells torqued it down hard, and I needed it off to drop in a BFA for a re-enactment. I also swapped out the E1 flash hider since after walking through the bush, it looked like a bird was nesting in the muzzle of my rifle.

I had the same rifle from Brownells and it was a complete disaster in every way. They finally took it back and refunded my money. Shortly after they deleted my fair review along with photos of all issues from their site.
