Reloading 40 s.w.
I am a new member and find this site very informative. I have a question about reloading. I have 10mm reloading dies from Hornady which are 20 years old. Can I use them for reloading my 40 s.w. instead of buying new dies? Thanks for any replies.

Re: Reloading 40 s.w.
Welcome to the forum.
You should be able to; I can't see why not. Most die sets I've seen are actually labeled .40 S&W/10 mm. The resizer certainly won't be a problem... though you may run into problems with not being able to crimp your rounds if the crimping shoulder is too high in the die. I'd say to give it a try and see what happens. I can't see anything catastrophic occuring... maybe a problem with not being able to bell the case mouths or seat the bullets deep enough. If that happens, it means the answer to the question is 'no.' Good luck, and let us know how you make out.
