Re: XD Subcompacts
If you nave a chance to dry fire a few different models side by side you'll find the XD trigger is nowhere near as good as the M&P compact or even G-19. Get a burwell trigger job on your M&P and you won't want to shoot an XD again.
My thoughts on the XD sub....It's a great reliable solid pistol that's top heavy, has lots of muzzle flip, and a trigger with lots of creep and a long reset. The service model feels much more balanced but still has the same trigger.
It's really hard to clean up the XD trigger. Any qualified gunsmith can make the M&P's trigger a dream with step by step instructions from the net. The glock trigger can be improved in like 2 minutes by swapping parts and is still way better than the XD trigger.
I say.....get a G19. Or an M&P.

Also as a woman you might find the M&P's different sized grips and superior ergonomics fit your hand better than some of the other choices and if you dig lasers the CT lasergrips for the M&P are completely seamless with the grip and totally badass.

Re: XD Subcompacts
My edc is almost exclusively my XD9SC.
OWB Serpa shirt untucked.
I'll be getting this in a few weeks:

I've lost a ton of weight in the last 6 months and enjoy my lean look with my shirts tucked.
So I'm looking for an IWB holster for the XD......and a pocket BUG as well!

Re: XD Subcompacts
That's only with the extended 16rd magazine. The "flush fitting" subcompact magazine is 13 rounds in 9mm.
I run mine with the 13 round magazine, fitted with the Pearce Grip Extension. It allows for a more natural shooting grip, but the shape of the extension doesn't print the way the extended magazine would. The 16rd mag essentially means you're carrying a sub-compact gun with a full-size grip.
