uzi vs sig 556 sbr
OK..... I've exhausted all other sources.... Should I get a mini uzi SBR and re-chamber in 357 SIG or a Sig 556 pistol with a stock?
Uzi is small and cool but still just a glorified pistol. The sig is a rifle caliber but quite a bit harder to conceal.
I want to be able to conceal and car carry a shoulder fired weapon.
Please offer up your opinion.....

You have to decide if you want a rifle or pistol caliber firearm (think ammo cost). Also, I don't know if an Uzi barrel can handle the higher pressure of the 357 sig round.

According to the conversion barrel maker, the Mini Uzi can handle it.
So do I get a glorified pistol with a stock pumping out maybe 1600FPS 125gr hollowpoints that is truly concealable and may even fit in a glove box?
Or.......
Do I go for the rifle caliber that although small, probably won't fit very well under my car seat. But, it will pump out tiny, pointy little bullets at well over 2000FPS?

I would go with the Uzi. If I recall correctly 9mm mags can be modified to work for the 40s&w which means they will in theory work with 357sig.
What's the contact distance you anticipate? What roll will this gun function? Both of those really would help truly decide what way to go but I still lean towards the Uzi. It's 100% more bad ass

Re: uzi vs sig 556 sbr
The purpose is to have a shoulderable, concealable "car" gun that can be carried as such legally with carry permit. The problem is, I drive a small car and many others have said that an UZI is just a glorified pistol. So, I started looking at the sig, but it really is sooo much bigger and harder to conceal.
Basically, it's the old argument of why carry a pistol when you can carry a rifle. I usually counter with a 357SIG at 1600FPS is quite a load. Of course I get the "body armor" argument.
At some point, I might as well get a 14 inch AR and carry that in the trunk!!!

Why not just get an AR pistol and save yourself the tax stamp? See if you like it, and SBR it when you feel it's necessary.

That sounds like a good idea for what you are looking for. 7.5" barrel Ar15 with collapsible stock with 9mm conversion if you do not want 5.56. I think Sig Sauer also has an SBR available now for the 5.56 instead of buying a pistol and adding a stock.
Or this with a collapsible stock:

Or a mp5/40 style SBR if you want something with a little more punch.
H&K UMP SBR
Krinkov with folding stock.
PS90 SBR since you mentioned body armor.
Glock SBR

Just throwing some ideas out there.
