    While we're on the subject, can someone identify this bayonet?
    My girls grandfather gave it to me because he knew I was into guns, but I have yet to find any surplus rifles it actually fits on and he couldn't identify it himself, he brought it home from the Rhodesia conflict in the late 60's to early 70's.
    Some extra details, it has a checkered grip, is a little over 15 inches long, and it has markings but they're indistinguishable because it hasn't been kept in very good shape, the number on the blade is 3218U.

    I think that might be a Spanish 1913 Long bayo for a Short Mauser. If you've got the time you can dig around here:
