Waiting Period ???? If any ???
Hi Guys, I just moved back to Pa after being away for 35 years, Just got My PA. drivers Lic about 3 weeks ago, before i got My drivers Lic. I went into a gun shop in Sunbury and asked how long I would have to wait to purchase a gun in Pa after i got My PA. Lic the dealer told Me that i would have to wait 90 days, I have been looking into PA gunlaws here and other places on the Net and I dont see anywhere that i have to wait 90 days before I can use My PA. Licence to buy a firearm, was this dealer correct or ???????

Never heard of waiting 90 days to be able to use your DL to buy a gun. How long do you have to wait to use it to buy beer, smokes or drive according to this guy?
I'm sure someone will have an answer.3%

Semper Paratus. There are actually quite a few former coasties on the forum. I was Atlantic Area 5th District from 1995-1999, small boat rescue stations.

Re: Waiting Period ???? If any ???
There is no waiting period. Next time show more cash and ask less questions. You probably confused the dealer employee into remembering something he heard once that isn't true.

Re: Waiting Period ???? If any ???
Check out Kahler's Gun Shop near Gowen City, you might get a better deal and the owner is obviously more knowledgeable. (Plus its a lot closer to you than Sunbury).

You can go buy a handgun the moment you have proof you are a PA resident.
You could have also bought a long gun here even as a nonresident so long as your resident state had no laws against it, and you abided by any regulations that state required (FOID card, purchase permit/license, etc).RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515

I moved backto Pa two days later went and got my DL switched back. Went straight to the lancaster county court house to se the sheriff. I only had the temp DL an he gave me my LTCF on the spot. I had a pistol so I did not need to buy one but I did buy two more before 90 days. Go get your gun.
