Re: The Appleseed Project
I think the wife and I are going to try and make it to the Oct dates in Lewistown. 2 questions, can we use our AR's for this? (I think its a yes but want to be sure) Second question: Magpul single point slings can convert to 2 point configuration, will that suffice for the sling requirement or should we get actual 2-point slings. Thanks

Re: The Appleseed Project
ARs are AOK. Most folks just like to use a .22lr for most of the event because of $$$.
Is it the Magpul with the bungee section? They're a little tough to work with because of the stretch. We can make it work if you want... I'd recommend the USGI websling. They're cheap and they'll give you a good idea of what proper support feels like so that when you put the Magpul back on you'll know what you're trying to duplicate.
...that said, I'll never discourage someone from using the gear that they want to get better at shooting with, even if it might present a challenge at first.

Re: The Appleseed Project
We did the Appleseed for our youth rifle team in the spring, it was awesome. The level of instruction and professionalism was very impressive. The kids learned a lot and improved with their marksmanship.
Good patriotic history lesson too.

Re: The Appleseed Project
I have been wanting to do an AS event for some time. I'm going to aim for Spring before it gets too hot. Fall doesn't work for me since my mind setting is archery season.
