sig 239 recoil
For those of you that have shot the sig 239 in both 40 & 9mm - is there much difference in the recoil?

Re: sig 239 recoil
i haven't shot the P239 in .40 S&W in a few years, but i shoot the 9mm P239 almost weekly and it is very light on the recoil.

Re: sig 239 recoil
The recoil is more noticeable in the .40S&W, but IMHO it's not bad at all.
The P239 weighs enough for it to soak up much of the felt recoil.
I fount the .357sig round much snappier than the .40S&W in a P239.

Re: sig 239 recoil
Thanks Folks! I wanted a 9, but I couldn't pass the 40 up when I saw it. I may have jumped to soon! It isn't so bad that I hate it, but it isn't as smooth as I would like. I am sure that I will get used to it in time.

+1 on the rubber grips. I have them on my Sig 229 elite in 9mm and on my 220 elite. It makes a world of difference controlling the 45.

Another +1 on the Hogue grips. Only run 15 or 20 bucks and make a nice difference.
I have them on a 226 (9mm) elite, 229 (.40), 220 carry. All of them feel at least slightly dampened in terms of recoil.

Re: sig 239 recoil
The 239 weighs 28 ozs. empty with 9mm its a Pussycat, everygun in .40 recoils violently so thats a non issue.
The 9mm is a perfect round as far power to recoil ratio is concerned , it were designed to kill soldiers on the battlefied by Georg Luger in 1909, the .40 were designed to kill crackheads in the .80's. Get the picture.?
It is a longtime i havent seen a 239 in 9mm , lots of .40's out there though.
I'm looking for one too.
