Re: Cabela's drawing CCW crowd
I noticed that at the entrance to Cabela's... In Hamburg, PA.... On the front door, pasted to the glass, the sign clearly states this:
"With respect to the issue of open-carry and concealed-carry of firearms by customers – it is Cabela’s general policy to allow customers to carry a pistol or revolver within Cabela’s stores if the customer is permitted to do
so in accordance with applicable law; provided such firearm remains safely holstered while the customer is on Cabela’s property, and the activities of the customer do not raise safety concerns or otherwise interfere with Cabela’s business activities."
Definitly feels inviting...

Re: Cabela's drawing CCW crowd
I agree. It was a short couple aisle walk from sporting goods to break room. I believe Walmart's actual policy is not to purchase ammo and firearm same visit. I could be wrong. Point is are these policies really worth getting upset about when the one that counts is CC/OC?

Re: Cabela's drawing CCW crowd
Yeah, I fail to see how anyone can construe Cabela's policy as "anti-carry".
The sign is up because some people are not smart enough to not take loaded guns out of holsters in the store to test holsters, ask for service on said gun, or just show it off to someone. As such they have had ND's in the store by "experts" that think the safety rules do not apply to them while in the gun store.
The policy is carry in our store if you like, but leave it in the holster like a responsible gun carrier. I have the same policy. If for some reason you want/need something with your loaded sidearm, the proper procedure is to ASK. You will then be directed to the clearing station / safe direction to unload if one is available. It pisses me of that so many people think that a gun shop is a rules exempt location and this includes owner/employees of some stores.

ETA: the policy of other stores to not sell ammo at time of firearm purchase: Utter nonsense. A solution to a nonexistent problem._________________________________________
