Re: Banks with metal detectors
Well I just got back from the bank.
Here is how it works. Once you walk in, your in a small room with an ATM in it. Then the "double door" system is after that. When walking in, you go through a metal detector. The door to the bank wont open untill the door from the ATM room is closed. The metal detector makes no noise at all. As I went througn it, an unarmed gaurd watched the machine. The gaurd was on my ass the entire time. He even stood next to me in line. On the way out I saw what he was looking at. There are two lights on the side of the metal detector. One is red one is green. I guess if you have a certain amount of metal on you, the red light goes off. As you walk through coming in, you cannot see the lights, only the gaurd can.
So I guess I set of a red!
On the way out I went through a double door system next to, but seprate from the entrance. That one I was stuck in for about two seconds untill I was allowed out of the bank.
Works great for a prison. But to make a deposit???
Im looking for another bank just on principle.
A local credit union is calling my name!!!

Re: Banks with metal detectors
A Glock IS detectable by a metal detector. In fact, a Glock is said to have more metal pieces inside the receiver than a steel Colt 1911. Just the reciever is a plastic polymer (technically, just about everything is a type of polymer). There isn't a Glock made out of ceramic. That's just a movie flub from "Die Hard II" that's sort of caught on. The slide is still made out of metal, the internals are metal. Most of the magazines are metal. And as someone pointed out, the ammo is metal. So if you wear it, it'll set off the metal detector. If you put it in a bag, the x-ray will still show the profile of the firearm. About the only way you could keep it from looking like a pistol is to melt it down and recast it as a paperweight.
