I'm happy they did. I checked a build i did recently and found an upside down disconnector spring.

It is still good info. Having this issue and I posted so I could find the thread tomorrow. Trigger won't reset on my build.

Shocked at the reply...good to see people still here from 2010.

FYI - fixed it by filing down the hammer sear and disconnect very slightly until it resets each pull. File and 1000-grit sandpaper.

I did not read all the posts, but here is my take on it. I recently had the same thing happen to me, although I check function before I go to the range. I did exactly as alpacaheat did. There was actually a burr on the disconnector. I worked on thousands and thousands of M-16 and M16A-1 rifles and this never happened. You buy cheap............

Mine wasn't "milled professionally" my a manufacturer so I bet the tolerances were slightly off. My hammer and disconnect grabbed each other very tight and it wouldn't release. So, I just had to re-adjust my tolerances.

That was my only issue, so I'm 100% happy with my first "from scratch" build.

Alpaca a couple tests for your hand fit hammer + trigger. I don't want your hammer to fall when it shouldn't which could lead to a lot of suck.

With the lower off, and the hammer held so it doesn't smack the lower receiver/bolt catch:

    1) let the hammer fall and keep the trigger depressed. Reset the hammer and very quickly release the trigger. The hammer should not fall.

    2) same thing, but very slowly release the trigger. The hammer should not fall.

the tests I describe are illustrated around the 0:40 mark.

    Thanks! I'll do that.

I filed very little at a time and stopped just when it started resetting properly. Didn't want to take too much off.

I use kasenit to harden frizzens. If you cant find any locally, Dixons in Kempton sell it.
