Looking for any Gun Shops in ....
The Clarks Summit and the Scranton area. I'll be working up there for a couple of weeks and was wondering if there were any good gun shops to browse around a little to kill some time.
Thanks Mike

Re: Looking for any Gun Shops in ....
I'm also working in the Scranton (Carbondale specifically) area temporarily and went in search of gun shops. Now some of these might be a bit too far east of you but:
Gun Toters , Eynon PA (probably the closest of the bunch): bought a revolver there last week and was very happy with the place
Hunters Gallery, Hamlin PA: I stopped once and they seemed friendly enough
Heberlings, Prompton PA: haven't made it there yet
NE Firearms, Honesdale PA: haven't made it there yet.

Add to the list Advanced Arms in Pittston (81 S. Main St.).
Northeast Firearms in Honesdale (Across the street from the Post Office) usually has some interesting stuff.
Bill Sporting Goods across from the PNC Bank in the 1900 block of N Main Ave. in Scranton is a small but friendly shop"...a REPUBLIC, if you can keep it."

Re: Looking for any Gun Shops in ....
i'm going to mention J&G Sporting Goods in Throop, only because they have a crazy selection of guns, ammo, and anything else gun related you can think of. just a warning: those guys are shysters of the 1st order. i use it is as my window shopping store: i go in, handle a bunch of guns, then go buy or order the guns i like somewhere else. i do buy ammo, there, because they've always got what i need in stock.
my favorite shops are Bill's Sporting Goods in Scranton, and Advanced Arms in Pittston. i think the people who own and run a shop are more important than what they keep in stock, and those two stores have the best staff in the in town. Gun Toters is a good shop. some people have had some issues with the staff. my dealings with them have been pleasant.
