    That's part of what I mean and what I had left unspoken. An N-frame lightweight or one of the Taurus titanium jobs in .44 mag might be a pleasure to carry. But, if it's "uncomfortable" to shoot you won't get enough practice with it. So it's a trade off all around. Pick a large enough caliber to do the job in the smallest frame that's still big enough to make recoil managable. So if the OP wants a revolver to fit the role of carry gun, target gun, and deer-hunting back-up, that's what I base my suggestion on.
